Calling all candidates! The regular filing period for local offices starts Monday, July 16, and ends Friday, Aug. 10. If no incumbent is seeking re-election in a particular office, that filing period is extended 5 calendar days to Wednesday, Aug. 15. Filing for Special Districts like water boards, healthcare, school and community college must be completed at the San Bernardino County Elections office during regular business hours 8am-5pm. NO PAPERWORK IS ACCEPTED AFTER 5PM – they are sticklers about that. The office is located at 777 East Rialto Avenue, San Bernardino. The website is www.sbcountyelections.com.
Candidates for Yucca Valley Town Council and Twentynine Palms City Council must apply with the clerk at the Town/City Hall of your chosen community. Yucca Valley office is at the Community Center and is open Mon-Thurs 8am-5pm with office closed 12-1pm for lunch; Twentynine is on Adobe Road north of Gorgonio and is open Mon-Thurs 7am-6pm.
