SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY SUPERVISORS MAKE POSSIBLY ILLEGAL APPOINTMENT TO FILL JAMES RAMOS’ SEAT

Many of you know that the SB Supervisors violated the Brown Act in how they handled the appointment of James Ramos’ replacement.  Ruth Musser-Lopez filed a complaint and that caused the supervisors to plan to make the appointment in public.

However the public effort was so clearly a sham that no one watching had any doubt the the decision was made in closed conversation and the “fix was in” for Dawn Rowe.  In the public view not one of the other 43 applicants was given serious or fair consideration.  An Inland Empire group has filed suit against them so the fight for honestly and fairness has not ended.  Dru. Coiner found a series of stories in the Sentinel.  Check the SBC Sentinel for current information.

SB County has more Democrats than Republicans by large numbers.  Today, however, the Supervisory Board has 4 Republicans.  The County Central Committee is complaining to the state.
Some of us are writing to the Governor.  The law saws if the Supervisors don’t act within 30 days of the resignation the governor makes the appointment. They did not act within the law and so the appointment should be vacated.  The Governor can be reached by email or phone.
